Today, we shine our celebrity spotlight on the life and career of multiple-award-winning British/Nigerian Hollywood trained filmmaker, Egor Efiok (nicknamed LadyBoss).
This epic scenarist is also the founder of E4PR, a celebrity-focused PR firm aimed at rebranding stars to suit her ‘Hollywood meets Nollywood’ concept.
She is currently a Hollywood Weekly Magazine’s Africa Correspondent and the only Nigerian member of the board of trustees of the prestigious Hollywood Weekly Magazine Film Festival (HWMFF).
Her passion for showbiz and pragmatic approach to work has made her stand-out in her career and she has never been afraid to cross boundaries no matter how controversial.
Born to Nigerian parents in Liverpool, England, Egor Efiok in the earlier stages of her life was a precocious child. Her parents had discovered she possessed certain unusual artistic abilities for a child her age.
Although, along the line, she studied Education at the University of Greenwich, London and took up a teaching profession for eight years, it didn’t take long before she returned to her first love of writing, acting and filmmaking.
Egor’s first ‘Hollywood Meets Nollywood’ film, “Turning Point”, which she co-produced with Niyi Towolawi (Producer/Director) was shot in America and Nigeria, respectively, starring Hollywood actors: Ernie Hudson, Joe Estevez, Cynda Williams, Todd Bridges & KD Aubert; and Nollywood actors: Igoni Archibong, Patience Ozokwor, Ebbe Bassey, Jackie Appiah, Oge Okoye & Enyinna Nwigwe.
Before then, Egor had also produced movies like: “Murder On The Monorail”, “Kibeban”, “I Am Bassey” and “The Father”.
